Tor Configuration Manager (TCM) is a personal utility that turns Tor and torsocks management into a clean control panel. Install, edit, restore, and extend Tor workflows without rummaging through config files in the dark. TCM protects your baseline with immutable defaults, generates working copies for your customizations, and keeps recovery one click away.

Fast Tor + torsocks setup

TCM checks whether tor and torsocks are installed, and if not, can install them with a guided one-click flow (apt-based systems).

Real configs, clean edits

Edit live system files without guesswork: /etc/tor/torrc and /etc/tor/torsocks.conf. No “mystery automation”. You see exactly what changes.

Restore in seconds

Defaults act as a “fast fix” return-to-baseline. If experimentation goes sideways, restore templates and restart Tor quickly.

TCM ships with default rotation templates and generates runnable copies for your configured control password. This makes it easy to verify your ControlPort + authentication are working before you wire it into a service.

Workflow:
1) Generate a control password hash
2) Append a custom control block to torrc
3) Generate plugin copies from defaults
4) Test run rotation safely

R.I.V.I.T (Remote IP Verification & Integrity Tool) forces Tor circuit rotation and verifies that your exit IP actually changes. It exists to eliminate “silent success” and provide immediate, visible confirmation before you run downstream tools.

Every live write is preceded by a timestamped backup. Restore is always available from the default templates. This keeps experimentation safe and makes multi-device setups consistent.

Typical safety loop:
- Backup live torrc/torsocks.conf
- Apply edits intentionally
- Restart tor
- If anything breaks: restore defaults instantly

IP rotation is the first module. TCM is designed to host additional plugins that run alongside Tor/torsocks (automation helpers, environment toggles, service wrappers, and more). Everything is generated from immutable templates so your baseline remains clean.
